About Us
Southern Lakes Refrigeration operates within the Southern Lakes region including Queenstown, Wanaka and Cromwell.
Established in 2005 by Paul Brosnahan and Nick Derby, the company specialises in the installation and servicing of commercial refrigeration systems and also heat pumps and ventilation systems.
With highly qualified engineers and a 24/7 service the team are dedicated to meeting the needs of clients and delivering quality workmanship and safe, cost effective solutions.
Paul Brosnahan
Paul’s refrigeration career began when he left school and took up an apprenticeship in Timaru. After gaining his NZ Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, he continued working in Timaru before heading abroad to London and gaining further experience in the UK. He then took a role in the Caribbean where he met Nick and he then returned home to NZ and settled in Queenstown setting up Southern Lakes Refrigeration.
Paul is quality focused and has a ‘do it once, do it right’ motto. Outside of work Paul enjoys playing squash, hunting and enjoying a craft beer or a good glass of Pinot Noir!
Nick Derby
Nick’s refrigeration career began when he left school in Whanganui and began his training. After gaining his NZ Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, he worked in New Zealand but then venture further afield to gain experience in Australia, the UK and the Caribbean before coming back to New Zealand and settling in Lake Hawea – joining up with Paul Brosnahan and establishing Southern Lakes Refrigeration.
Nick is dedicated to satisfying clients and has a ‘we will make it work’ motto. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, getting out on his motorbike and enjoying the odd craft beer or single malt whisky!
